Verizon iPhone
First impressions:
- I can hear you now.
- it took a few minutes to activate the phones, but my AT&T numbers were active on Verizon within 5 minutes of activation, painless.
- internet is plenty fast
- Apple sales clerk at store said: “with a new product release, we usually get a few thousand people in the first 1-2 days, and we were preparing for that. we’re seeing more like a few thousand over the first week, but it hasn’t been the same as with a new device”
- I was her first AT&T switcher, which she was really excited about.
- iOS 4.2.6 is buggy. Mail very crashy, had some weird things happen with app downloads.
- Feels like things lock up a little, perhaps when connecting to the internet(?). Don’t know if this is buggy or something data on CDMA.
- despite heavy paranoia, I haven’t yet felt the inconvenience of not being able to use data + voice at the same time yet
I’ve only had the thing for < 24h, but so far, so happy. I really love the “phone” feature that Apple introduced, exclusive to Verizon. My AT&T phone dropped 3 of 4 calls while I was in the car on the way to the Apple store, the last calls it made. Good riddance.
